Ministry Covenant
With the induction of our Rector, the Reverend David Burrows, our parish has developed and entered into the following covenant of ministry to God between The Bishop of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador and The Parish of the Ascension, Mount Pearl.
Worship
Together we affirm the priority of Worship, and will strive to enable the faithful worship of God in the city of Mount Pearl, within the Parish of the Ascension.
Discipleship
Together we affirm the priority of Discipleship, and will strive to learn and grow in the Faith.
Pastoral Care
Together we affirm the priority of Pastoral Care, and will strive to bring God’s love and compassion to all.
Outreach
Together we affirm the priority of Outreach, and will strive to share what we have and who we are with the parish, the community, and God’s world.
Fellowship
Together we affirm the priority of Fellowship, and will strive to share the Love of Christ with all.
Proclamation
Together we affirm the priority of Proclamation, and will strive to share the message of the Gospel in this place at this time.
Stewardship
Together we affirm the priority of Stewardship, and will strive to offer our gifts and resources to God in the work of ministry.
Administration
Together we affirm the priority of Administration, and will strive to properly administer the resources of the Church in its vital role in the world.
Conclusion:
We covenant to carry out our ministries in partnership with the Bishop and the whole Church as the People of God in the Parish of the Ascension, Mount Pearl.
We commit ourselves to review periodically our performance within the Covenant, and to the reaffirmation of the Covenant under the oversight of our Bishop.
Together, and on behalf of the Diocese, the Parish Vestry, and Parish Family, we the undersigned make this Covenant commitment to God on this twentieth day of November, two thousand five (A.D.).
