What do you think of this quote by Lauren DeStefano:  Fall is 'The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.'

Thanksgiving Sunday is October 8, and as usual we will be decorating our church to reflect our thankfulness for our many blessings.  With that in mind, come to church on Saturday, October 7, from 10 to 11 a.m., bringing with you anything you deem suitable to display your thankfulness to God in a very visible way:  vegetables, preserves, baked goods, berries, cut flowers, .....
Thank you for your anticipated help!

*  Maybe you would like to mark your calendars for the traditional Jiggs Dinner taking place on Tuesday, October 10, in the church auditorium. Mark Leyte can provide you with a ticket ($20 for adults, $10 for children under 12 years) by calling 221-5352 on or before Wednesday, October 4.   One sitting at 6 p.m.!  Only 150 tickets being sold on a first come first serve basis! Take out dinners available but must be picked up between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

*  The sale of the Thanksgiving goods will take place on Tuesday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m.  That event coincides with a Card Party!  Come and enjoy a fun night! Just $5 for admission, with prizes as usual.  Don't forget your cards and baskets and a little extra for those ever popular $2 grab bags.  (That means we are looking to the parishioners to donate one or two grab bags - just drop them at the church office. Thanks so much!)

*  Bible Study will begin on October 4, with meeting times the same as in previous years:  Tuesday evening from 7 to 9, and Wednesday mornings from 10:15 to noon.  Come and check it out!

*  Those who use the food bank to help them through the tough times are very grateful for your generosity.  This week they are hoping for tinned vegetables, tinned pasta and tinned beans.   Donations to the food hamper fund are also appreciated.

*  Project Ascension which was started to assist the Parish in a financial crisis is continuing throughout the year.  Thank you to those who contributed to the $3 766.00 raised to date.  Donation envelopes are still available at the back of the church.

*  How many of you out there can play a musical instrument?  How would you like to offer your talent during the monthly family service?  If you are interested in any aspect of this ministry, please speak with Mrs. Ina Kearley.

Vestry members, please remember that tomorrow evening, Thursday, September 28, is your monthly vestry meeting starting at 7 o'clock.

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' team # 6 and Counting team # 4.

*  Godly Play has resumed and the official registration was last Sunday; however, registration is still continuing.

*  Confirmation registration also took place this past Sunday, but will continue until Thanksgiving weekend.  You can pick up the form from the office during the week or after the service on Sunday

*  The Men's Service Club hosted a very successful flea market this past Saturday, bringing in just over a thousand dollars.  Thanks to all organizers, donors of items, buyers, and those who helped clean up after the event.

Members of the Men's Service Club are reminded of their meeting on Monday, October 2.  New members are always most welcome.

That's it folks!

God Bless,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
