Don't forget,
Daylight Saving Time ends this coming weekend.  Set your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 5, at 2 a.m. or you are going to be an hour early for church. (Maybe Saturday night before you go to bed would be a better time !)

*  This week is a very special week for services.  The All Saints' Day service this evening at 7 p.m. will commemorate the Fortieth Anniversary of the Building of our church on Smallwood Drive, with guest preacher, The Very Reverend William Bellamy, and other special guests in attendance.  On Thursday evening is the All Souls' service when we remember our loved ones that have passed on.  The Very Reverend Bellamy will again be our guest preacher.  Following the service there will be a fellowship hour hosted by the Parish Network Visitors.

*  In connection with the All Souls' Service, in remembering your loved one, if you would like to have his/her name read out during the service, please write the name in the book provided at the back of the church.

*  The food bank continues to need your help.  It is hoped that you will drop an item or two in the food bank box - crackers, cereal and tinned soup needed at this time.  Thanks again for your kindness.

*  This Sunday's evening service, November 5, at 6:30 p.m. will be the Act of Remembrance.

*  Lots of events being planned for the Ascension Fall Fair:
        - Saturday, November 18, will be the traditional sales tables (dry goods, baked goods, preserves, crafts, Christmas things, and more).  This will all start at 9:30 a.m. with morning coffee/tea and treats for $6. Moose burgers (if we get our moose) will be available for $5 at noon.  The success of this sale depends on your generosity in donating items for the tables.  You can drop them off at the church from 9 to noon during that week, and on Friday evening at 7 during setup time.

        -  Next item on the Fall Fair agenda is the roast beef supper (eat in or take out) on Monday, November 20, at 6 p.m.Tickets at $20 for adults, and $10 for children, must be purchased in advance by Friday, November 17.  Just call Mark (221-5352) if he doesn't call you first *:) happy.

*  The Fall Fair wrap-up will be the card game on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m., with the usual prizes.  Just $6, your cards, and, of course, your baskets, and you'll have a great night of fun and fellowship.

*  I'm sure you're interested in knowing that the total raised from the Thanksgiving Jiggs Dinner, card party and hamper sales, was approximately $4000.  Thanks so much for your support once again! It is such a great help towards delivering the Ascension's ministry program!!

*  Members of the Men's Service Club, your business meeting will be on Monday, November 6, at 7  p.m.!

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 5 and Counting Team # 1.

*  A brief reminder for card lovers and afternoon tea drinkers - the ACW afternoon tea and card game is on Tuesday, November 7, at 2 p.m. Just $7 and a little extra for the bake table, the $2 bags, or even a pre-loved handbag or piece of jewelry, and you're all set for the afternoon.  Enjoy!

Enjoy this 'colorful' season,
God Bless,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
