If we hope to build and maintain a relationship with God on our Lenten journey, then daily prayer will enable us to do that.  I like the way St. Teresa of Avila comments on prayer -
'Prayer is being on terms of friendship with God, frequently conversing in secret with Him who, we know, loves us.' (St Teresa of Avila)

*  Just a reminder that this morning there is Holy Communion at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Lenten Study 'the Way of Love', which is followed by Stations of the Cross at 12:15 a.m.  Also, there will be a Lenten Evening Service at 7. The Lenten Study started on Ash Wednesday, but there is still room for more.  During the study today participants will be considering varieties of prayer and how this prayer will inform and encourage others in the faith community and in the world.

*  From now until March 24, the youth, for their Lenten project, are hoping to receive some old towels and blankets.  The four legged furry pets in shelters will be most grateful for the comfort these donations will give them.

*  In connection with outreach projects, the Parish Lenten Outreach Project is ongoing.  In partnering with the Single Parent Association, they are hoping to receive donations of diapers, wipes, recess items such a granola bars, juice boxes, puddings and fruit cups, etc.  Please place your items on the shelving unit in the side foyer  - as you can see in the picture, it needs your support.  Thank you!.

*  This is an important notice just for men!!!  Our annual Bishop's fish and brewis fellowship dinner will be held on April 1, 2019.  This is not an April Fool's joke, this dinner is taking place in the church's auditorium at 6 o'clock for just $12 each (including coffee/tea and dessert of course).  There will be no un-booked tickets sold at the door, so contact Tasker at 368-5676 or any member of the Men's Service Club for yours.

*  We had a fantastic Youth get together last Friday evening.  It was a night of Karaoke and rock painting (a special project for the Janeway Children's Hospital).  Check out our parish Facebook to see a few pictures of the fun evening.

*  This week the food bank is hoping for tea bags, sugar, and peanut butter in our food bank boxes.  A monetary donation to the food hamper fund is also gratefully received.  Thanks so much!

*  Many of you haven't picked up your Lenten package which includes your year end receipts.  The annual report booklet is also available.  Both are placed at the back of the church.  Please pick them up as soon as possible. By the way, the Parish's annual general meeting will take place on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m.

* Some of you have been inquiring about The Secrets Concert, a country/gospel group.  Well, they are hosting a concert in our church on Saturday, March 30, at 7 p.m.  You can get a ticket ($20) either on line at or at the church office.

Have you given some thought to helping with the leadership and decision making in your parish? There are positions available:  vestry positions, treasurer, PWRDF representatives, an Anglican Life reporter, and two Mission leadership positions.  If you feel God may be calling you in either of these ministries, please contact the Rector's Warden, Rosalind Williams by leaving a message at the church office (368-5693).

*  It is through your support that a profit of $4325.00 was made from 'Blast Away Winter Blues' and in excess of $1600.00 from the Pancake Supper and Card Game.  Thank you all for your continual support of our fundraising events.

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 2, and Counting Team # 8.

*  Please remind your children/grandchildren (from grade 7 and up) that if they plan to attend GPS 2019 - God's Positioning System - Diocesan Youth Conference, the deadline for registration is Friday, March 15.  You can obtain registration forms from Rev'd David or Rev'd Lynn.

*  If you want to sponsor a clergy member for the 'Clergy on the Floor Campaign' that was made note of in last week's enews and in your Chimes, you can use the special envelopes in the pews, or sign the sponsor sheets at each entrance of the church.

And last, but by no means least, an important Men's Service Club message!! Two messages have been directed to the men in the Parish previously, inviting you to come to one of our meetings to see what we are all about.  Well, we have a meeting on Monday, March 18, but instead of it being 7 o'clock as usual, the meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. as we are all having supper together at 6.  Nothing is required of you; just come and enjoy!

May God guide you on your Lenten journey,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
