Happy Easter!  Rejoice and sing praises - He is risen! May the risen Lord fill your heart with compassion, joy, love, and never ending bliss!

A few important notices and reminders for you:

*  The church office will be closed on Good Friday, April 19, and Monday, April 22.

*  On April 28, Neil Coffin, a former member of this parish, will be ordained Deacon at our church.  It would be greatly appreciated if some of you could help supply treats for the reception in the auditorium which will follow the 3 p.m. service. (You can drop them off at the kitchen the morning of April 28.)

* It is interesting to note that all donations given for PWRDF - Cyclone Idai will be matched dollar for dollar by the government of Canada.

*  Do you enjoy yard sales?  Beginning Saturday, June 1, and continuing every Saturday in June, July, and August from 9 a.m. until noon in our auditorium, there will be an inside yard sale.  We won't have to worry about the weather!!!  You can rent a table for $20, and $10 if you need a second one.  Admission will be $1.  If you are interested in booking a table or two, please contact Brian at 682-1844 or Rosalind at 221-8400, or if you prefer, you can email

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 6 and Counting Team # 5 (Easter Sunday teams).

*  Ladies, there is a special night (Monday, May 13) being planned for us! The Men's Service Club once again is hosting Ladies' Night - a dinner of roast beef with all the trimmings, dessert, tea and coffee, (at 6 o'clock) followed by entertainment by The Sweet Forget-Me-Nots.  Tickets for the ladies of the parish are on sale until May 1, and then following that date, tickets for guests until the deadline of May 6. The $20 tickets are available from Ena Oake and Sylvia King, with a few available at the office.  Mark your calendars for a night of great food, fun, and fellowship.

*  Many of you enjoy a game of cards.  Well, you can enjoy a game of cards on Tuesday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the church's auditorium, and at the same time you will be supporting the CLB.  Just $6 per person.  Bring your own cards and baskets, and they will provide the tea and coffee.

*  Also taking place in May is the Jewish Community Havura"s Annual Holocaust Remembrance Service on May 5, at 3 p.m. in the Bureau Centre Auditorium at Memorial University.  The theme is "Voices Not Forgotten: Poetry from Victims and Survivors.)  All are welcome!

*  Attached to this email is a copy of this week and Easter Sunday's worship schedule in case you were not able to go to church and receive the Chimes.

*  Our last session of the Lenten Study will be after worship this morning.  This session invites participants to create a rule of life based on the Baptismal Covenant, and to discern how to 'GO' join God's mission of transformation, crossing borders, and healing.

May God be with you as you journey through Holy Week,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
