Luke 24:2-3. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
Christ has risen indeed! Alleluia!

*  Special thanks and God's blessing on Rev'd David, Rev'd Lynn, Mrs. Kearley and the Choirs, the retired clergy, lay ministers, Eucharistic ministers, and all those who contributed in any way to the wonderful liturgies throughout Lent and the Easter Season.  Thanks also to Rev'd Lynn for our Lenten Study which led to much learning, sharing, and great fellowship.

*  Next Sunday, April 28, we are honoured to have Primate Fred Hiltz with us for our services at 8:30 a.m. (Holy Communion), 11 a.m. (Holy Eucharist/Holy Baptism), and the Ordination of Neil Coffin at 3 p.m.

*  With respect to the Ordination of Neil Coffin, we would really be grateful if you can help with providing sweets for the reception (no sandwiches) in the auditorium after the service.  You can drop them off at the kitchen on the morning of April 28.  Thanks so much!

*  Once again the Men's Service Club is hosting the annual Ladies' Night for the ladies of the Parish on Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m.  It is going to be an awesome roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, followed by entertainment by The Sweet Forget-Me-Nots.  The $20 tickets will be available for the ladies of the parish until May 1, and after that until May 6, they will be available to guests.  Contact Ena Oake or Sylvia King for a ticket or check with the office.  Come and join us for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship!

*  Donations for the Home Again Furniture Bank - Clergy on the Floor fundraiser will be accepted until Friday, April 26.  (Thanks to all supporters to date - a total of $1035. has been received.)  Although Rev'd David will be away, he is making sure that another clergy will be sleeping on the floor in his place Emoji.

*  You have all heard about the Inside Yard Sale taking place on Saturday mornings from 9 to noon in the church's auditorium throughout the summer starting June 1.  Maybe some of you have started collecting your saleable items already!  Table rentals are $20 per table and $10 for an extra one.  Just contact Brian (682-1844) or Rosalind (221-8400), or email

*  Food bank users continue to need our help.  This week they are hoping for tinned beans, tinned tuna, ham, chicken or turkey, and Kraft dinner (any brand really).  Thank you so much!

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 3 and Counting Team # 6.

*  We give thanks to God for the opportunity of  Rev'd David to represent the Anglican Church of Canada at the 17th Anglican Consultative Council in Hong Kong from April 25 to May 7.  (The meetings of the Council will be live streamed.)  Please keep Rev'd David in your prayers during this time.

*  Many of you will be pleased to know that Ascension Cafe resumes this coming Sunday, April 28.

That's it folks for another week,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
