We are still within the Easter Season.  Scripture is still being read of the events following the empty tomb.  Questions continue to be asked about the resurrection, as well as the promise of eternal life.
What do you think of this quote from Martin Luther: "Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not only in books alone but in every leaf of springtime."

*  Ladies, don't forget your ticket for Ladies' Night, because after May 1 they will also be available to people outside our parish.  For the awesome dinner and entertainment, it is only $20.  If you are interested, please contact Ena Oake or Sylvia King, or check with the office as a few tickets may still be there.

*  Are you planning on having a table in the inside Yard Sale taking place in the church's auditorium beginning on Saturday, June 1 from 9 until noon?  It is just $20 per table, and $10 if you need an extra one.  These sales will be held on all Saturdays throughout the summer, so you can book for other times as well.  Just call Brian at 682-1844 or Rosalind at 221-8400, or email

*  There are many people in our community that rely on the food banks as they have difficulty in making ends meet.  Please help by donating to the food boxes from time to time.  This week they would appreciate tinned tomatoes, meat balls and gravy/Irish stew and one litre tetra boxes of orange juice.  Thanks so much!!

*  Are you looking forward to the next card party?  The CLB is hosting a card party as a fundraiser on Tuesday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the church auditorium.  You only need $6 and your own cards and baskets!  Tea and coffee will be provided.

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 4 and Counting Team # 7.

*  The next evening service will be Sunday, May 26, at 6:30 p.m.

*  As you all are aware, Rev'd David is in Hong Kong representing the Anglican Church of Canada at the Anglican Consultative Council  (ACC-17).  Live-streaming of certain events is taking place and you may access it by going to Details of live-streaming are found there.  Please continue to keep Rev'd David in your prayers during this time.

*  Rev'd Lynn, as you are also aware, is on a much deserved vacation.  May it be a safe, relaxing, and refreshing experience for her and Wayne.

That's it folks,
God Bless,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
