Welcome to the Parish

Welcome one and all to the

Parish of the Ascension!

If this is your first time here, I encourage you to say hello to the sidespeople, persons that hand out the bulletin at both entrances, and have nametags on. Also, please say hello to the persons that sit close to you as you worship here; we would love to get to know you better! If you would like some conversation or time with one of the clergy, please let us know. All are welcome to be present here in worship. This is God’s house, and God loves us all, each and every one of us. If you love God, and you are attracted to Christ Jesus, his story and his message, then you are welcome to receive the sacrament of bread and wine which we call communion, or Holy Eucharist. This is a time when we give thanks to God for our lives, and we are strengthened by receiving Jesus into our bodies, so that we can face the challenges and the joys of the coming week.

If you have mobility challenges, and you wish to receive Holy Communion from your seat, I ask that you please let one of the sidespeople know this. They will share this with the clergy, and at the time of communion, the clergy will bring the bread and the wine for you to your seat.

If you have been a part of the family of the Ascension for some time, you may feel that this place is home, and comfortable, and all life is well for you. There may be others around you in your pew that you do not know. These people may be shy, or unknowing of our customs and practice here. I ask that if you see someone you do not know, please introduce yourself, and make them feel welcome. This is a place where everyone should feel at home, and where people should feel the love and care of the entire community.
