Don't forget, Daylight Saving Time ends this coming weekend.  Set your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 3, at 2 a.m. or you are going to be an hour early for church. *:) happy

*  There is going to be a very special service this week! On Saturday, November 2, is the All Souls' Service when we remember our loved ones that have passed on.  If you would like to have your loved one's name read out during the service, please write the name in the book provided at the back of the church.  Following the service, there will be a fellowship hour hosted by the Parish Network Visitors.

*  You may like to mark your calendars for November 16, as that is when the Parish will hold the first events of the Fall Fair.  Admission is $1.  As usual, there will be the sales tables with dry goods, baked goods, preserves, crafts, Christmas things, books, etc.  You can also enjoy morning coffee for $6.

We might just have some moose by then, and if so, there will be moose burgers for sale for just $5. All events on this day take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

*  You all know that the success of any Fair depends on donations from the Parish members for the various sale tables. If you have items you would like to donate, you can drop them off at the church during the week from 9 until noon, and on Friday evening, November 15, at 7 p.m. which is set up time.

*  While we are on the topic of giving, the food bank would appreciate tinned milk, tinned tomatoes, and toilet tissue this week.  Thanks so much for your generosity.

*  Card lovers!!! There is another card game being planned! The ACW will be hosting a Card Game and Afternoon Tea on Monday, November 4 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium.  Cost is only $10.  There will be some sale items and, of course, prizes.

*  Again this year 'The Secrets,' the popular singing group, will be coming to our church.  You may like to mark your calendars for November 29 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and will be on sale after the 11 a.m. service each Sunday leading up to the event and also at the office (9 to noon) each weekday.  The senior choir will be performing with the group again this year.

*  A Roast Beef Supper has been planned for Monday, November 18, at 6 p.m. as part of our Fall Fair.  You can purchase/book tickets every Sunday after the 11 a.m. service until that date ($20 for adults and $10 for children under 12).  Only 150 tickets will be available for one sitting only.  Take out dinners will also be available.  Deadline for tickets is Friday, November 15.

*  Tomorrow will be the last day (October 31) that a donation can be made to the Ride for Refuge.  To date, $2750 has been raised. Thanks again to all who made this possible.

*  If you are interested in being part of the Christmas Hamper Team for our Parish, please contact Rev'd David at the parish office by November 1, 2019.  This involves ensuring hampers will be available for about 25 families who apply each year for support.  To be a part of the team you just need a passion for helping vulnerable persons, and have skills with organization, telephone calling, and computer work.

*  Our Ascension Cafe is in need of marmalade.  They would appreciate your donation  - just drop it by the church office.  Thanks.

*  The next Sunday evening service will be on November 24, 2019.

*  How would you like for the youth group to supply your Christmas pudding this year?  They are selling them for $15 each to help with the cost of travelling to Calgary in 2020 for CLAY (Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth).  If you are interested, the sign-up sheets are in both foyers.  Puddings will be available around December 8.  Thanks for your anticipated support.

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 6 and Counting Team # 1.

God Bless you all,
Jean (On behalf of the Ascension)
