Monday, November 11, is Remembrance Day.  We, once again, will commemorate the sacrifices of those Canadians who fought in World War I and II, and all those who have given their lives in armed conflict throughout the years in the name of freedom and peace.

*  As you all know, our Fall Fair (admission $1) starts the weekend of November 16, with a morning coffee from 9:30 a.m. to noon ($6).  There will be the usual tables of dry goods, baked goods, preserves, crafts, Christmas things, books,....  Of course, the success of the Fair depends on your generosity in donating items for the various tables. Items can be dropped off at the church from 9 to noon during the week, and on Friday evening, November 15, at 7 p.m. during set-up time.

*  A roast beef supper on Monday, November 18, is also a part of the fair.  Tickets must be purchased/booked  - $20 for adults, $10 for children under 12 by Friday, November 15. One sitting only at 6 p.m and takeouts from 5 to 5:30 p.m.  Only 150 tickets, so book or purchase a ticket or two today.  Thanks, as always, for your support.

*  In observance of Remembrance Day, the office will be closed on Monday, November 11.

*  Godly Play Schedule:  November 10 -  They will sit as a group in church for the Act of Remembrance Service,  November 17 - They will hear the story of the circle of the church's year, and on November 24 - They will be doing a large story at the front of the church for all the congregation.

*  The food bank is always in need and appreciates that there are so many that respond to that need.  This week they are hoping for meatballs and gravy/Irish stew, tetra boxes orange juice, and tinned fruit.  A monetary donation to the Hamper Fund is equally appreciated.

*  The All Souls' Service was once again a very moving service.  Special thanks to all organizers and participants, especially the choir for the inspiring hymns and also for their help, along with the Parish Network Visitors, in providing the tasty treats for the fellowship hour.

*  Christmas is just around the corner, so special plans are in the making.  For example, there is the Seniors' Christmas Event on December 2, and the Christmas Pageant on December 22.  With respect to the Pageant, they will soon be designating parts and costumes to those children who are able to participate.  If you have any concerns or questions regarding this, please contact Doreen at 364-1454, or speak with either one of the Godly Play teachers on Sunday mornings.

*  If you are interested in ordering a Christmas pudding ($15 each) from the youth group, please sign up on the sheets located in the front and side foyers of the church.  They are aiming to offset the cost of travel to Calgary in 2020 to CLAY (Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth).  Puddings will be available around December 8.  Thanks for your anticipated support.

*  We are delighted to have the popular singing group, the Secrets, share a country Christmas in concert on November 29 at 7 p.m.  Tickets ($20 each) will be available after the 11 a.m. service on each Sunday leading up to the event, and also at the church office between 9 and noon each weekday.  You will be pleased to know that our Senior Choir will be performing with the group again this year.

*  Special thanks to all who donated to the Ride for Refuge.  Team Anglican EastNL has donated $2,795 in support of the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund through your generosity.

*  There are still tickets available for the Home Again Housewarming Gala taking place on November 20.  Your support of this event can be via being a volunteer, auction item donor, sponsor, or attendee.  For more information, the contact is Home Again Furniture Bank Housewarming 2019 - Home Again Furniture Bank | Mobile Silent Auction | Handbid or call Maureen at (709) 325-0072.

*  Captains, please remind your teams:  Sidespersons' Team # 1, and Counting Team # 2.

*  On Sunday, November 10, at 11 a.m. will be our Act of Remembrance Service with members of the Legion and the CLB in attendance.  It will be Welsh Eucharist and during the service we will remember those fallen, and the CLB will have their enrollment and dedicate new company  colours.

The next evening service will be on Sunday, November 24, at 6:30 p.m.

*  You may like to mark your calendars for November 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which will be the Advent Family Activity Day.  You will get more information regarding the day as we near the date.

*  Please take note of the attachment to this enews which Paul Lane has sent requesting volunteers for the Mount Pearl Community Food Drive taking place on November 23.  Details are given in the attachment.  Thanks for your support.

That's it folks,
God Bless,
Jean (On behalf of Ascension)
